   Hi!

I'm running ubuntu 6.10 and disabled the boot option "quiet" from
menu.lst. But now every single message starts with a timestamp like
   this: [348065.389201].

The same with kernel messages in /var/log/messages (e.g. from iptables).

Is there somewhere an option to turn this behavior off?

   Markus
