This is so well put it ought to be in a book !

The GUI-only guy, based on what you've accurately written, is forced to
   do
what MS users must, namely slavishly obey the re-install treadmill, as
   they
are victims of deliberate ignorance - both by their will and MS.

In stark contrast, we who endeavor to learn both the GUI and CLI
are masters, as it were, of our computer domain. We are freer
because we have, and employ, knowledge.

Think that's too great a statement, anyone? Tell you what, speaking to
those GUI-only people; life (time), knowledge and money are closely
associated - which will master you? Will you serve knowledge and
education or peevishly crawl at the feet of those you give control to?
Are you spending wasted money on MS products, and thereby, remaining
in their control? Or, are you voluntarily sending money to the Linux
distributor of your choice while you enjoy learning and taking control?
