   Whilst perusing Usenet on Mon, 19 Feb 2007 16:01:22 +0000, I read
   these words from Moog :
   >"Josiah Jenkins" illuminated the devils arse on Monday 19 February 2007
   >15:46 in alt.os.linux.ubuntu by typing:

   >
   >Here's the shortened version......

Thanks for the link to the forum.
   >
   >Then input the following lines one by one
   >(copy and paste the kernel version output by uname)

It didn't like that bit (the C&P) but otherwise AOK !

Errrr, what did that script actually do ?
   >
   >Hopefully that will work.

It didn't resolve the problem but I discovered that,
albeit included on the CD, 'ndiswrapper' is *NOT*
   installed by default.

I copied the package from the CD and the notes say,
"This package contains the userspace tools.
The default Ubuntu kernel already provides the
required modules. If you use a custom kernel, you
might also need the kernel module package."

Can I push my luck ?

Having installed it in Ubuntu, I should now only
need to install a driver for the PCMCIA card, yes ?

I have found a suitable driver in .zip
format which contains 3 files - .bin / .inf / .sys

   Which one goes where ?

The ndiswrapper files installed as follows -
   ../
   sbin/
   sbin/loadndisdriver
   usr/
   usr/sbin/
   usr/sbin/ndiswrapper
   usr/sbin/ndiswrapper-buginfo
   usr/share/
   usr/share/doc/
   usr/share/doc/ndiswrapper-utils/
   usr/share/doc/ndiswrapper-utils/README
   usr/share/doc/ndiswrapper-utils/AUTHORS
   usr/share/doc/ndiswrapper-utils/README.Debian
   usr/share/doc/ndiswrapper-utils/copyright
   usr/share/doc/ndiswrapper-utils/changelog.gz
   usr/share/doc/ndiswrapper-utils/changelog.Debian.gz
   usr/share/man/
   usr/share/man/man8/
   usr/share/man/man8/ndiswrapper.8.gz
   usr/share/man/man8/loadndisdriver.8.gz
   etc/
   etc/ndiswrapper/

   ---------end of files------------

Thanks for the help, Moog !
