Looking for information on the above using Ubuntu 6.06.
(Insert Linux newbie warning here !!)

IBM T21 Thinkpad, dual boot with Win XP/Linux.
Wireless network for (old) desktop, two laptops
and printer has been running Windows for 2+ years.

AFAIK . . . There are no Linux drivers available for
the USR 5410 card. I did however, find a program,
   'NdisWrapper', http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/,
which should allow the native Win driver to work.

   So far, so good.

Whilst checking the files on the Ubuntu CD (burned
from an .iso) prior to installation to the HD, I noted :

   /pool/main/ndiswrapper/ndiswrapper-utils_1.8-oubuntu2_i386.deb

It appears that this program is included in the install
of Ubuntu 6.06 as I now have a network icon in the
top right corner of the screen and the 'red' light on the
card illuminated (this never happened under the
previous Mandrake install which I have now removed)

   Two questions :

   1) Where is the directory containing 'ndiswrapper' ?

   2) The USB driver is (obviously) a Win .exe file.
I now have a copy of it on the Ubuntu desktop,
what do I now need to do to install it in Ubuntu ?

   Any help appreciated !
