   Well, the bad news is that Grisoft only seem to distribute AVG in .RPM    
   format, as used by RedHat, Mandriva etc. Ubuntu uses .deb files, so this    
   is probably where your problem lies.   
      
   The good news is that Linux is much less susceptible to viruses and so    
   very few users need it. The main use for it would be if you were running    
   a mail server, which is likely to handle messages infected by Windows.
