   Stay with lighter distros on older hardware. I ran Vector on a P-II 300   
   with 128 MB. Performance was a little slower than 98 but quicker than   
   Win2k on that one. DSL is a good choice if you have a lesser machine.   
   Mepis Lite would be another one to consider, if it still exists. Since   
   Mepis is Ubuntu based now, there may not be a Lite version anymore.
