There was a big mess with the partition situation caused partly by me
but not really, and the result was that nothing was completely right.
At one point the PartEd in Feisty showed nothing, no partitions, no
nothing. I couldn't fix it with the PartEd in Feisty, there was nothing
I knew how to work with in Linspire's partition, all I had on the Win98
partition was Partition Magic 4 [how's that for some old stuff?] and I
had a hard time getting the right kind of cooperation out of that, but
finally I worked something out. I rearranged everything with PM4 which
made an extended ext2 partition, which got changed later, but that was
the setup for installing feisty in.

By then I had herd4, which has a better/different installer set of
options than herd3 did, and then also the herd4 PartEd was healthy
because of what I had fixed with Win98's PM4.

In any case, I got herd4 installed, and so far everything is fine with
   it.

The open office in uptodate Feisty herd4 is 2.1 dated Feb 12.
