   GRUB is only installed once on the MBR (master boot record) of each hard    
   drive. You can't install GRUB on individual partitions. You can edit    
   your active MBR GRUB (from whatever distribution) to load all your linux    
   distros, regardless of their locations on different partitions. For    
   instance, I'm running five different distributions of Linux on my system    
   (plus Windows). I allowed Ubuntu to install its GRUB on the MBR and then    
   modified it to load all the other operating systems.
