The Nvidia GF FX5200 has a standard monitor connector and an S video one. In
Windows (where I first used it - to prove it worked) when you go
Desktop>properties>settings, you can change which screen to use.
So to load Ubuntu I started with the normal monitor, then when everything
loaded OK unplugged the monitor and on next reboot it automatically used to
the S video TV without me having to select it.
Though I have noticed since one seems (so far) to have to have the TV AV
selector switched to that input otherwise the screen stays blank.

I had to bump the screen font sizes up to 16/18 and this has pushed some
application windows 'OK' & 'Cancel' buttons off the bottom of the screen but
   otherwise it all works well.

Now to get wireless WPA working so I can connect to the net :-)
