   It /is/ the ethernet connection. The only difference you will see is in the   
   actual hardware maker and model, and probably only when you use the   
   system spec utility. The real problem that seems to be a recurring theme   
   is that modprobe apparently dosen't load the right kernel module(s) during   
   autodetect. This is a pain in the ass in Fedora, but you can work on it   
   on a much more under-the-hood manner than can easily be done in Ubuntu, in   
   my experience. Ubuntu still rocks ;-)
