   I've installed Ubuntu on PC's with VIA, Silicon Image and ALi chipset   
   SATA without needing a drivers disk. I rarely use IDE drives now,   
   unless I have an odd 30Gb one kicking around which I don't have a use   
   for. Not sure about NVidea, I might try that just to see if it works.
