   I have run "red hat" on a PIII-450 which is not much faster than the   
   Celeron 400 and it ran quite well. I have Ubuntu on a PIII-650 which   
   may be almost twice as fast as the Celeron, and it is very snappy. If   
   you have over 256 meg of ram you may be happy with the result. It will   
   be the size of your memory, not the speed of your cpu that will break   
   you here. You do NOT want to get swapbound!!!
