Considering Wireless security, a good think to do is to set "Broadcast SSID"
to disable.
This mean your wireless is invisible , but you have to key-in manually the
SSID in the
network configuration of each of your P.C..
Also activate the MAC Adress filtering, Plus WPA-PSK with a refresh every
120 seconds

I just setup kubuntu 6.10 on my notebook (Toshiba Tecra M3) and use wpa
without any issues with the ipw2200 driver and wpa_supplicant. All I
need to do is use kwalletmanager/knetworkmanager combination.
