   sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Fedora and Ubuntu both have issues   
   with wireless ethernet. I don't know if it's a linux wide problem, but I   
   have given out a lot of ubuntu disks to coworkers and to date, none of them   
   has gotten their wireless ethernet to work. One friend at work was determined   
   to make it work, and spent a great deal of time researching and working on it.   
   He never did get it working. I kept telling him he was better off just going   
   hard wire, and he finally did, to his delight. It worked right off.   
      
   I am paranoid. Wireless encryption is very vulnerable. I suppose if you have   
   to have connectivity in hot spots, you would need it. Otherwise, I would'nt   
   recommend anyone use it for security reasons. Again, call me paranoid.   
      
   Get a sniffer app and drive down the street with a laptop sometime. You'll   
   get a taste of what I am talking about. A half way competant 16 year old   
   cracker could break into your lan from the comfort of a parked car.
