Probably didn't define your "Postpone" directory correctly (or at all) in
your ~/.slrnrc file. This directory must exist and be user writeable.
Here's my ~/.slrnrc (note also browser spawning setups):
set scorefile "News/Score"
set postpone_directory "News/postpone_directory"
set non_Xbrowser "lynx -cfg ~/.lynx.cfg '%s' &"
set Xbrowser "konqueror '%s' &"
(IMO slrn is very mum about help if ~/.slrnrc isn't perfect from gitgo)
