Get ndiswrapper and its common from Synaptic (it works) and then do
everything root; after "blacklist bcm43xx" simply navigate to the
drivers' location (both bcmwl5.inf AND bcmwl5.sys) and, then:
    sudo ndiswrapper -e bcm43xx
    sudo ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf
sudo ndiswrapper -l to verify "driver and hardware present"
    sudo ndiswrapper -m
also add "ndiswrapper" to /etc/modprobe/modules with su editor
set up in System and turn off wired->set to connect on boot->
don't use WPA, and KEY in HEX if WEP->activate wifi
   Happy surfing.
