   Thanks. I blacklisted  bcm43xx, and  I downloaded ndiswrapper (1.37),   
   opened up the tar.gz file,  and got as far as "make" and "sudo make   
   install"  The last command returned a whole slew of errors, and I   
   surmise by the command "ndiswrapper /home/name/-i bcmwl5.inf"   
   returning "ndiswrapper not found" (or something to that effect) that   
   ndiswrapper did not install correctly.
