You don't seem to have taken notice of the facts: that whether a Windows
sys admin is spending more time in the GUI is IRRELEVANT to whether they
   need to use CLI tools.

The fact that they ARE spending more time in the GUI is WHY they need to
be using CLI tools - to spend LESS TIME monitoring their systems.

I repeat: studies have shown that Linux sys admins can manage MORE
machines than Windows admins BECAUSE they do NOT use GUI tools much of the
time (although there ARE GUI tools available for Linux as well as for
   Windows server management.)

The issue is not so much whether the tools are GUI or not, but whether
they can be scripted so that the sys admin can run them automatically on
multiple servers at once and receive the reports in a single place for
   review.

By definition, any Windows GUI tool that only runs on a given host does
   not meet these qualifications.
