   The native driver is problematic.  Go with ndiswrapper:   
   The steps for my bcm4318 should be similar to what   
   you will need.  They are:   
   -> Blacklist bcm43xx in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist   
   -> ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf   
   -> ndiswrapper -m   
   -> add "ndiswrapper" (no quotes) to /etc/modules   
   -> configure with Network Mgr. in System. Set to   
      start on boot. WPA is a PIA so go with WEP, DHCP,   
      and HEX KEY or with DHCP and no encryption. If it   
      isn't already, disable wired connection (with both   
      wireless and wired enabled it won't work).   
   If you need more detail, there are extensive howtos
