Actually, I do want to get rid of Windows. In fact I have already done
so with the exception of one online game that I play occasionally (Fly For
Fun) which won't work with Cedega, hence the boot natively to Windows
   requirement.

The other reason that I need Windows is that I am returning to Uni this
year and I am assuming that there may be some cases where I am required to
do some work within Windows in order to get the course work done. Visual
BASIC or something like that I expect. Maybe I'm wrong, I sure would be
   happy about that.

In fact, as of this moment I have decided not to install Windows at all
until I am confronted with some compelling reason to do so. Perhaps
this day will never come. Of course if Parallels or vmware or Xen or
anyone else introduces proper 3D support to their virtualisation product
the first thing I will do is load up Windows XP and see how it works.

   Just because I can.

Should I be ashamed of that?

Please don't make elitist assumptions about people when you don't know the
reasons behind their actions/requirements. You do the cause of
promoting Linux adoption no favours by saying stuff to people such as what
   you wrote above.

Fortunately, I am not a wavering Windows switcher so I can just shrug it
off and get on with stuff. People newer to Linux (and the "holier than
thou" attitudes of some of its advocates) may have been less ambivalent
   towards what you wrote.

Thanks for that, but I don't want to go back to booting Windows every day.

   I couldn't imagine anything worse.
