   Alternatively, you can use putty on Windows to connect to Linux. It's    
   true that you only get console access that way, but I find that it is    
   often sufficient.   
      
   If you want to get graphical, then consider using Xming   
   http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Xming   
   which allow you to run apps on your Linux box, but have them displayed    
   on XP. Very nice. It uses "plink", which you can get from the same    
   website as putty.   
      
   I prefer these approaches over the KVM switch idea, as there's less    
   wires involved, and I've found switches to be somewhat temperamental -    
   although I think many people have no problems with them.
