   Aaah. Civic? Nice. Still only slightly better MPG's than a decent    
   diesel engine, although I believe the emissions are quite a bit better

   There was a hybrid car built in the early 1900's. The technology is not    
   as new as people believe. Karl Diesel designed his engine to run off    
   any form of oil. However, it has been refined to a point where it will    
   only run on heavily processed stuff now. A rethink is definitely    
   needed.   
      
   Linux doesn't tax my system as much as windows does. That's a fact.    
   However, I think you'd need to run a specially compiled low power    
   distro to completely benefit. Something like DSL, for instance. Or    
   Linutop? Although that would probably kill the games playing side.

   Perhaps. However, tinkering with Sun's Looking Glass increases power    
   output dramatically. Eye candy doesn't usually come cheaply.
