   After freewheeling for a while with Kubuntu on an old pc and   
   trying to get familiar with it, which I thought went well. Now I am   
   experiencing serious problems: 1. can't get the printer to work and 2.   
   can't install the sound card.   
      
   1. I have a very ordinary printer (HP laserjet 1010) for which I installed   
   the driver, but it won't print.   
      
   2. I understand I need alsaconf for installing a sound card but it's not   
   there ("command not found"), and I don't see it in Adept either. Adept   
   shows various Alsa stuff but I don't know what I need.
