   I see there are already some hints in the right direction.
   So to complete it this is part of my fstab that does auto mount the
   drive/partitions including Windows C: on boot up:
   # /etc/fstab: static file system information.
   #
   #
   proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
   # /dev/hda4
   UUID=0c55bc2c-2fd8-4628-93e7-de01d381ec3b / ext3
   defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
   # /dev/hda2
   UUID=2f2566f6-b3f8-4cd7-8973-5646112ebee4 /boot ext3
   defaults 0 2
   # /dev/hda1
   UUID=8A10DEE210DED473 /media/hda1 ntfs
   defaults,nls=utf8,umask=007,gid=46 0 1
   # /dev/hda3
   UUID=8dfe2515-c7cb-4f74-8f1c-73a934a3cd60 none swap sw
    0 0
   /dev/hdc /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0

   /dev/hda1 is the Windows C: drive.
   All partitions are named with their UUID code, of recent that's the
   Ubuntu way but you can without problems replace it with the commented
   out (#) /dev/hd** as it used to be.
