I like to sign my messages as a way of proving whether a post was/was not
posted by me. I've been in newsgroups where, after a massive debate
finished up, a user decided it would be fun to pretend to be me. With
unsigned msgs, it is quite hard to prove that one didn't write a particular
post. But if one signs all their msgs, then the mere fact that the post in
question wasn't signed is a good indicator that it's a forged post.
