I am using the stock Wine from the Ubuntu repositories. The guides were
mentioning copying DLL files and or compiling Wine yourself. I didn't
bother with this at all. I did try installing WoW in Wine, ie:- to my
Home partition but this actually didn't work too well. It seemed clunky
(for some reason) and so I thought I would just go to the Windows
Partition and run it directly from there (to see if it actually worked)
   and it did.

   I have a Core2Duo CPU E6300 overclocked to 2.67 Ghz (I cannot remember
as it's been a while since I rebooted), I have 1GB of memory and a
Nvidia 7600GT. I am using the Nvidia drivers provided by Automatix
(although I uninstalled automatix afterwards). I get 60fps everywhere
city/country. I get some frame drops with a lot of player characters
around, but I think thats because of Lag.

I use the default terrain detail that was selected when I installed it
in XP. The only problem I have is sound is poorer than Windows... I can
make out what is being said but it stutters like crap, but Linux does
it too and I think it must me some kind of interrupt problem. I am not
bothered because my PC is in my front room and the sound is turned down
   most of the time anyway.

When I am running it in XP there is no graphical difference to Ubuntu.
It's silky smooth and the game plays the same. The only problem I have
is it is very addictive and talking about it here makes me want to play
   it now!
