   The skript works great for ATi cards too.   
   The update broke my video too but I figured it would since I rolled my    
   own video.   
   Ran tseliot's skript. Using it, I first uninstalled the ATi stuff, then    
   installed it.   
   Synaptic showed one broken dependency, fglrx-kernel-2.6.17-10-386, no    
   doubt left over from my prior install. Completely removed that and all    
   is well.
