The Ub developers would like to see an Ub sanctioned way to achieve
Automatix or EasyUb rather than 3rd party routes.

   https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CommonCustomizations With the many community
customization scripts floating around, it is relevant to provide
relevant information about the status of integrating the changes these
scripts provide in Ubuntu. -- Why scripts are problematic - Contributed
scripts like this do not provide the best user experience possible.

Most new users are going to want/need access to the codecs and
repositories and applications which are not consistent with Ub's
   philosophy at http://www.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/philosophy

Much to the contrary, Linspire is 'full of' those applications and
codecs, and so are some Ub derived distros, such as Mint Linux.

Ub community support is vastly superior to Linspire's.

Ub wants to be more friendly to access to the absent codecs and apps,
and Linspire wants the advantages of being Ub-ish.
