from a console prompt on the Live CD
   1) run grub (might need to do 'sudo grub')
   2) grub will prompt, then do
    grub> find /boot/grub/stage1
this will list all the partitions which have a grub setup - you probably
know which one it is already, but in never hurts to check. If you know
your Ubuntu is installed on, say, hda1, then this will show (hd0,0).

   3) grub will prompt, then do
    grub> root (hdx,y)
where x and y come from the Ubuntu partition information listed in the
   step above.

   4) grub will prompt, then do
    grub> setup (hdx)
x is 0 if you're dealing with hda.

   5) grub will prompt, then do
    grub> quit

You're done. You should now be able to boot into Ubuntu. You'll have to
add info in /boot/grub/menu.lst for the MS boot. When you get that far,
come back and we'll cover that part.
