   Which in most cases, on a *nix box, the typical user has no permission to    
   write to. The only reason you see this as a problem is because you    
   typically sign onto a windows box as admin and have full rights to the    
   whole box.

   It cant be installed without permission. If it installed to /usr/bin you    
   had to use sudo to do the install.

   You need to understand how to use the tool (the PC and OS are tools as    
   well). I can go buy an ociliscope but what the hell do I do with it?
