   That was not his point. His point was the program & linux combo did not   
   work correctly due to bad default configuration and as a result he   
   decided to move to an OS/version where the default configuration "just   
   worked". Its a frequent, and valid, criticism of a lot of linux apps. A   
   casual user should probably NOT have to understand permissions to save   
   data after a new application install - the defaults should point him to   
   his own file system in /home.   
      
   If, of course, the developers of such apps are interested in casual   
   users using them.
