   Hello Group,

I want to exit Gnome and swich to pure console mode. How can I do that? With
SuSE/KDE there was a "shutdown > only console" mode, which exited X-windows
and turned to console mode. I can't find anything similar with Ubuntu/Gnome.
An alternative was to open a console window and use the command "init 3",
since this runlevel was configured as console-only. But at Ubuntu it seems
to be different. Could anybody help me out please?

   Thanx
   Tom
