   Oh, forgot to post that.   
      
   well. I'm not possitive which graphics card it is... it has an integrated    
   one but I'm using the one my brother bought. It's like a gforce 5700. For    
   testing sake, the monitor I'm using is a Dell 17" lcd. model: 1704fpt   
      
   However since you mentioned it. I just removed the geforce and it's working    
   fine with the integrated card (Intel Extreme 3D Graphics with 64MB Shared    
   Memory (*i think)) and tried booting up the live cd. This actually worked,    
   so after removing the cd and trying to bootup from the harddisk I get the    
   Xserver error again.   
      
   The other pc I installed ubuntu on has an integrated video card and pci    
   geforce that but it's probably an older geforce 2 model.
