   Having read part of this thread in one group and part in another, I may   
   have lost some of the context.  But AIUI, the present context is that   
   some people think others should avoid giving CLI commands as help when   
   there are GUI ways to accomplish the same results.  IME, whining or   
   making cogent arguments (depending on how you view it ;) will not help   
   any in a case like this.   
      
   If there are enough GUI experts around, they can post followups to each   
   CLI help post explaining how to use the GUI to the same effect.  This   
   way, the people needing help have a choice, and perhaps even the CLI   
   folks will learn a bit.   
      
   And if there aren't enough GUI experts around to do that, users will   
   have to live with help that involves some typing.  IOW, the burden's on   
   GUI advocates to provide GUI answers to all problems, not on CLI   
   advocates to stop posting help.   
      
   Whether or not new users should get used to the CLI, I dunno, but IMO   
   they /should/ get used to having choices.  If some of the choices are   
   scary, they can choose other ones.
