   I agree and I'm not saying that you must learn the CLI. But I am   
   saying that it is extremely helpful to learn it. That is why people   
   help out by giving CLI commands.

   To exclude positive aspects of Linux is not a better idea and it will   
   never be. You can not do everything in a GUI. Maybe everything a   
   newbie needs, but eventually they will not be newbies. This comes with   
   learning the system and how it works. Part of this learning is   
   introduction to the CLI. If they don't learn the CLI then they are not   
   fully learning Linux. They are learning Gnome or Kde or some such   
   windows environment.

   I agree, but learning how to do more than the GUI is also positive and   
   enriching.   
      
   I was referring to people who complain about being shown the CLI way   
   to fix problems they are asking for help with.
