   No Linux is "noob ready". There are  minefields out there for the   
   unwary. sudo, permissions, sound issues, xorg issues etc. No it is not   
   insurmountable and there are plenty of good people out there ready to   
   help noobs over the hurdles. The plethory of distros does not help as   
   many have their own installers and file hierarchies.   
      
   Unfortunately there are also a lot of arrogant know alls who prey on the   
   unwary.
