   I'm not so sure that'll be the problem as even in the 'old days' a music    
   CD was already 700MB.   
   Have you recently tried to read a plain data CD of the 650MB variety?   
   I ask because CD, especially DVD drives tend to go bad with years.   
   You probably already did but is your BIOS set to boot from the CD drive?
