   Ubuntu is not "Linux". It is one distro with its own personal   
   agenda. That is the point.   
      
   The previous poster was right. There is no "Linux community" as a   
   general rule. Generic Linux help is rare especially since the different   
   distros start doing things their own way. Its one of the biggest hurdles   
   when getting into Linux - to sort the google results for your distro and   
   not to risk your system integrity by doing something meant for another   
   distro.
