   I'm afraid you really did something wrong in that case. Some things on   
   Ubuntu are difficult, but installing software is really easy, much easier   
   than it is on Windows. That's to say: if you do it out of the repositories   
   of Ubuntu. If you're 'not so experienced', it's kind of strange to install   
   things outside of Ubuntu's repositories, especially when it's no   
   deb-package.   
    If a not so experienced Windows-user installs something meant   
   for a different system, she/he will have problems too.
