   As you can see I especially picked a very simple program to ensure that   
   the install was good.  I had precisely the same problem when running the   
   "Hello.pp" program that accompanied the compiler at install time (this is   
   the one I had to use sudo for compilation, again following the Free Pascal   
   documentation).
