Well, I'm seriously hoping Ubuntu will push Linux well past the 5% market
share that Apple ("the computer for the rest of y'all") has had for, like,
   ever.

The direction of my push is to slowly get my kids used to using it,
move my wife towards F/OSS, etc.

And please don't confuse "Ubuntu noob" with "Linux noob" or "computer noob".

There are those of us who were very comfortable typing CLI commands into
an OS/2 console (the original version), who have been programming PCs
since whenever (charter subscriber to Creative Computing), and who have
built numerous Linux boxes, as well as Windows, who are still new
   to Ubuntu.
