   From a newbies point of view, It is nice to learn how to use this OS from a   
   limited gui position, then learn the intricacys later when I am more   
   confident...   
   I chose ubuntu because it will allow that - I need to be able to turn it on   
   and know that the internet, sound and video etc are going to work, things   
   like installing basic drivers and the Add/Remove are really good, point and   
   click, so I am at ease. Installing software from other than the   
   repositories is a nightmare for a point and clicker IMHO.
