   This has been my experience, too, including things like web and mail with   
   a small corporate department. In my case, I particularly liked using YaST   
   (the SuSE install/maintenance manager) because it could run in a CLI mode   
   (as well as GUI). In fact, to this day, I still use CLI YaST because it's   
   usually much more convenient and efficient (for me).
