   A few weeks back in an attempt to install a program with wine I   
   accidentally uninstalled X, gnome, and kde from my laptop. When I   
   reinstalled them. everything came up fine except the sound. The   
   sound card is showing as Intel 82801db-ich4   
      
   All of the sound controls appear to function correctly, but there is   
   still no sound. Alsa, and libasound2 are installed.   
      
   Does anyone have any idea for a place to even start to resolve the   
   issue, other than a reformat/reinstall?
