   Opening a terminal and typing sudo alleviates these messages. I hope you   
   aren't running as root, esp on the Internet. This is the biggest aspect   
   that helps keep Linux much more secure than Windows.    
      
   Of course, I'm a relative neophyte, and DO use the GUI a lot more then   
   terminals, but there are some instances where a terminal just works so   
   much better!   
      
   Besides, I'm an old DOS 3.1/VAX guy...CLIs don't phase me, they're just a   
   nuisance!
