   I think you are describing me. I do use scoring and find Knode's pretty   
   decent. My use of it isn't overly extensive though. I found setting up an   
   alternative server in Pan was hit and miss. In fact, I get better results   
   from KNode using one server. Although I have two set up, one intended as a   
   back up. Pan seemed to inexplicably miss chunks of posts in text only   
   groups. Which is my predominant usage. Maybe it was the way I had set it   
   up.

   Fine. Anyway, it was only a suggestion as the OP stated that he didn't like   
   Pan or Thunderbird. Granted, I should have left out the "customisable as   
   Xnews" part.   
      
   I notice you're using Leafnode and slrn. I don't think I've got the balls or   
   the eyesight to even attempt that combination.
