   Scoring is no where near as extensive. Xnews uses pcre as does slrn and   
   pan, knode's scoring is very simplistic IIRC. Admittedly I haven't started   
   it up in a long while but I believe that hasn't changed. Also archives   
   and Queues and the ability to retrieve missing parts from an alternate   
   servers in Xnews is not available in Knode. The list of things Xnews   
   does is quite long, most do not use it anywhere near its capacity.   
      
   It only has a few limitations that probably hinder it. It doesn't do   
   mime but there is a proxy to fix that. It can only have 4 connections to   
   a server per GNKSA. It loads all headers into RAM and thus does not   
   handle very large binary groups well. The last one is the only one with   
   no workaround other than limiting headers to less than say 500,000 at a   
   time.
