This video chip seems to generate quite a lot of traffic on newsgroups and
   blogs, isn't it?

I just wanted to share my (tiny) experience:

I have got a display with a native resolutions of 1400x1055.
I have read quite a lot of postings explaining the necessary twaeks to fool
the driver, in order to accept this resolution.
I am not speaking about his approach, I will probably twaek it later, when I
   have learned more on Linux.

I am just trying to explain why Ubunto sticked to 1024x768 although a
resolution of 1200X1024 would has been possible.

I lost quite a couple of hours fiddling with xorg.conf, until I understood
that I had a DHCP enabled second monitor connected to the VGA output. *After
disconnecting that monitor I got 1200X1024 without problem.*

As far as I have read today, *getting dual-head out of the driver I810 from
   XORG* is woodoo alchemy.
I could not find any posting of someone who succeeded, did someone?

   Hoping that could help anybody...

   Michel
