   There were some reactions indeed,    
   but the only advise I got was to buy a new scanner.   
   No real solution to my question,    
   so I decided to search a solution elsewhere, (in this group)   
   To see if there is no real solution to get my scanner working.    
   I hope it is not forbidden to get a second opinion when the first request in   
   another group did not provide a solution.
