   Hi,

I just installed Ubuntu 6.10 Desktop on my Toshiba Satellite Laptop, and
the install went without a hitch except for my wireless.

I go to the Network Settings, and it doesn't see my wireless whatsoever.

I went onto the forums for some help, and I tried to follow some of their
instructions with people with similiar problems, and I'm really out of
   depth here.

lspci does see the nic, and the wireless:

02:02.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5212
   802.11abg NIC (rev 01)
02:03.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-
   8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)

And I followed the instructions to check a bunch of other stuff like the
loopback, etc, but I hit the wall with the sudo iwconfig. The "Access
Point: Not-Associated" is where I have left it off because it does not
match what's supposed to be there.

   ~$ sudo iwconfig
   lo no wireless extensions.

   wifi0 no wireless extensions.

I only really know Windows, so yes, I'm a n00bie. Any help would be
   greatly appreciated.

   Thanks in advance,
